Kingston made a good impression in our survey of SD cards.  On the 4 models we tested, two obtained the maximum of 5 stars, one a 4 stars and the least expensive received 3.  Their latest three SDHC were anxiously awaited in our offices.

Excellent in writing, surprising in reading

This Class 6 is the jewel of the Kingston SDHC line.  The card is of course faster than its Class 2 and 4 counterparts, at least in writing where it attains 7.54 MB/s.  In reading, it’s another story, which we couldn’t really understand because it’s positioned between a Class 2 and 4 from the same brand.  On the other hand, with our Nikon D40x, the result was once again back in line with a slowing down on the 11th shot for an average of 1.52 ips over 30 photos.

- Writing speed

- Doesn’t handicap your reflex

- Reading performances are behind this brand’s Class 4

This card is average - no better no worse. In reading, it’s 1 MB/s less than the best and in writing 3 MB/s. Overall, it’s good but not outstanding.
