Logitech FreePulse Wireless

The Logitech FreePulse Wireless are headphones that function with Bluetooth V2.0 technology.  With an average range of 8 meters, you can easily listen to music without having to worry about the usual cable related problems.

Ergonomics: The first thing that stands out is of course the very nice design.  After that, these headphones are comfortable being very light (56g) and the absence of cables is a real plus.  The connection between the dongle, which is relayed to the music source (portable audio player, PC, Hi Fi system, etc.), and Logitech FreePulse is done in a few seconds.   Batteries are rechargeable and they offer a generous autonomy of roughly 5 hours of music.  We also liked the volume control directly on the headset.  One disadvantage is the size of the receiver which may be very cumbersome on certain portable players; however, apparently the Logitech FreePulse can be synchronized with other devices that have Bluetooth support and therefore we can sometimes do away with the wireless receiver.

Audio quality:  In this domain, we could have expected much better.  Sound isn’t too accurate and music lovers may find it hard to listen to their favorite tracks with these headphones.  Basses are strong and dominate over other frequencies.  This means that sound is “somber”, heavy and represents a crude reproduction of certain tracks that are rich in basses and low mediums.  For the other frequencies, mediums, high mediums and highs are almost absent from the audio profile.  Nevertheless, this could be enough for those who aren’t too picky in this domain.  Also, note that sound levels were amply sufficient for all types of uses (which wasn’t the case on the previous model).

For this price range there are indeed the fine finishing touches but sound quality leaves something to be desired.
